Your Creative Quilt Organization

           

We welcome all interested quilters and friends of quilting to join our organization.  Our dues are $35.00 annually and are payable no later than June for the coming year.  Membership cards are good from September 1 through August 31 of the following year.  Guest fees per meeting are $5.00

 

Penn Oaks Quilters meet the second Monday of every month at 7 PM.  We are currently meeting at:

Penn Oaks welcomes new members.  Please come join us!  We have a membership table at each meeting where you will introduce yourself to the Membership Chairperson who is manning the table!   They will "take it from there!"

 


 

 

Penn Oaks Quilters to Host  For the Love of Quilting VII

 

Penn Oaks Quilters will hold its seventh Quilt Show,
For the Love of Quilting VII,

April 2013

at the Griffith Hall, Ludwig’s
Corner Fire House, 1325 Pottstown Pike (Rte. 100—near
Rte 100 and 401) in Glenmoore, PA.

 

Over 100 quilts will be exhibited. NQA certified judges will
evaluate and award ribbons to many quilts in a multitude of categories. These along
with ‘exhibit only’ quilts will be on display. Demonstrations, a hand-made boutique, and
a number of vendors will also highlight the show. There will be opportunities to win door prizes and to
buy chances to win our Charity Quilt.

Vietman Veteran Jim Milliken

Jim will speak on his tour of duty, his experience as a wounded soldier in Japan, and his appreciation for a quilt he received in the hospital.  Jim is author of a book "Enter and Die" and gives motivational speaches to church, school and veterans groups.  He has been interviewed for PCN TV and WCHE radio.

 
Following Jim's talk we will be making strip pieced Quilts of Valor".

"Thread Jazz for Quilting and Embellishing - Needle and Thread Know-How" is the title of this new Sulky program designed specifically for guilds around the country.  Learn how easy and fun it is to use all of those glamorous Sulky decorative threads that you see on award-winning quilts.  YOUR quilts, wall hangings and wearable art can all be just as dazzling and exciting as the "experts"!

 

Each attendee will receive lots of handouts and have the chance for great doorprizes!
